Letter to House International Relations Chairman
Henry Hyde (R-IL) criticizing the L Visa Reform Act
June 24, 2004
In a letter sent today to House International Relations Chairman
Henry Hyde (R-IL), Compete America criticized the L Visa Reform
Act.
"We write to state our strong opposition to the recently
introduced 'Save American Jobs Through L Visa Reform Act of
2004' (H.R. 4415). This legislation, if enacted, would cripple
the ability of international employers to transfer and retain
managers and executives and specialized knowledge employees
from abroad, who are essential to maintaining and expanding
business operations in the United States. We believe this
legislation is overly broad, would place U.S. companies at
an extreme competitive disadvantage and would jeopardize current
and future foreign investment in the United States."
